Q: Why can’t we just use part of the former State Hospital property?

A: The highest and best use of this property would be commercial uses to generate much needed revenue for the Town.

A: Yes, there are limited state and federal grants and reimbursements available, but further research must be completed for a factual answer. For example, there are Homeland Security grants, a direct grant, energy efficiency grants, and open space grants.
