Oak Embers Sept-Oct 2005
The Oak Embers Campout is our last "Official" campout of the season, and this one was one of our best ever. New members elect Tom and Merrily Lyon donated a few cases of hot dogs and hamburgs that we cooked up for lunch on Saturday. We then moved into a Wine Tasting event hosted by Mike and Judy Sleights, and rolled into our Saturday Ham & Bean pot luck. This was followed by our community breakfast on Sunday morning, so if a lot of the photo's in this album show people dining, it's because the Seaport Sams Dining Club was in full motion this weekend! For ALL of the events there was a lot of background planning and work, and this Chapter truly works well and plays well together. On Saturday we were visited by State Director Sandy Bulson and her husband David, and we enjoyed playing the state "Beanbag Baseball" they brought with them, and their company at the wine tasting and pot luck events.
Our next event is the "Extra" campout to Travelers Woods next weekend, and in December we'll have our annual Christmas Party. The camping year is coming to a close, but we'll be starting right back again in April as we open up Deer Haven Camp Ground.
