20 Sept 04 Membership Meeting, Seamen's Inn, Mystic CT

Our third membership meeting of the year was held at the Seamen's Inn at Mystic Seaport in Mystic. We had a nice turnout, and a wonderful program in the person of Rev. David Hammett of the First Congregational Church of New London. Rev. Hammett spoke and gave a slide presentation on his experience in guiding youth groups in building small boats to be donated to poor families in Haiti. His program is currently associated with the Haitian Health Foundation, and his groups good work and the conditions in Haiti were well illustrated by his presentation. Prior to the slide presentation and lecture, P/C Dave Ferrell was presented his 25 Year Life Membership pin by Commander Bud Pendleton. Our thanks to Administrative Officer Henry Curtis for putting this program together for the NLPS.
